process

The interior design process is fluid, dynamic and fun!  If we do our job well, you will enjoy every step. And in the end, the result is a reflection of your taste, lifestyle and dreams. Roxanne Lumme Interiors is simply the tool you use to get there.

This is generally what you can expect:

initial meeting

We discuss your goals, color preferences, ideas, dreams, budget and expectations. Review your magazine clippings, sketches or any other visual examples of rooms, furnishings, windows and colors that inspire. Your rooms are measured and photos are taken.

design development, budget projection & presentation

Drawn to scale floor plans, furniture placement suggestions, window treatment ideas, fabric samples and paint suggestions are presented and a budget estimate is established. This is when we start to hone in and narrow down.

implementation

And we are off……fabric choices are finalized, color decisions made, furniture and rug selections complete. Orders are placed and the waiting game begins. After the initial burst of activity, this can be the moment in the process when you may feel like things have come to a screeching halt. We are waiting on fabrication of window treatments, production of furniture, shipment of occasional pieces and case goods or awaiting an in-demand painter.  Take a deep breath. You can be absolutely certain that Roxanne is busy monitoring all of this behind the scenes activity.

accessories, lighting and art

It is perhaps the single most important element after fabric and color selection. Just as an outfit is not complete without jewelry and accessories, neither is your home. Here is where your personality shines through – personal photographs, treasured art, sentimental collections, carefully selected accessories and lighting – all of these things are the ‘jewelry’ that will complete your room. Without this step, you simply have a lovely room of furniture but no ‘wow factor’.

r e s o u r c e s

An extraordinary amount of time goes into establishing and maintaining a successful interior design business; and one of the most important elements is seeking out high quality, reliable industry resources. Roxanne has a whole host of companies through which she can obtain furnishings, accessories, rugs, lighting and fabrics. She annually attends the International Furniture Market in High Point where manufacturers present their newest creations and the latest styles.

So, chances are pretty good that the table or chandelier you saw the other day in your favorite magazine is available through Roxanne Lumme Interiors.

v a l u e

There is a misconception about hiring a decorator or designer that centers on money. No doubt that this is a luxury industry, but one that is a smart value.

While some designers do charge crazy high fees, Roxanne Lumme Interiors does not. Not only is our pricing fair, but the added value of having a professional assist you with the design process is simply smart.

A professional helps you avoid buying that too large sofa, or wrong size rug, or having to hire a second painter to fix the job done by the first – who was really affordable! Then there is color. You might love the swatch in the store, but hate it on your walls. It takes a trained eye to anticipate how color will look in certain rooms and in varying light.

Work once with a professional – and you get it.
